Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of umbilical cord blood prolactin and Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate on neonatal respiratory distress syndrome,
82 normotensive and 33 pregnancy induced hypertensive women were sampled as the study subjects in the Department of OB./GYN. of Taegu Hyosung Catholic Unive rsity Hospital.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1. There was a significant positive relationships between gestational age and umbilical cord blood prolactin level(p<0.01), but the relationship between gestational age and Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate level was not significant(p>0.1).
2. In the case of the gestational age between 32th and 37th weeks, the mean umbilical cord prolactin level was significantly higher in the pregnancy induced hypert ension group than the normotensive group(p<0.01), but the Dehydroepiandrosterone
s
ulfate level was not significantly different(p>0.1).
3. There were no significant differences of the value of prolactin or Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate between the neonatal respiratory distress syndrome and control group(p>0.1).
